Bitmex's margin trading accounts for nearly a third of all BTC trading and is the number one source of trading volume in the market.

Getting ready for a red tide of shorts, boys--the next month is going to see carnage like Omaha Beach

So normies are bears now? Unironically, this is super bullish sign.

you know that on bitmex you're trading a derivative contract that follows btc spot price and not vice versa right? of course you know anon...

You know that you're wrong and all transactions on Bitmex are bitcoin settled when it comes to those derivatives, right? Meaning you buy in with bitcoins, they pay out with bitcoins and if you''re liquidated its your bitcoins that're liquidated. And the funny thing about making money shorting is you sell your coins now -> buy shorts so its a self fulfilling prophecy if step 1 is 'dump ur bag now'

Market sell 5m USD on mex and watch what spot prices do.

Like have you ever used bitmex? You have to deposit in Bitcoin. To get INTO the bitmex margin market, you have to buy bitcoin then send it to Mex. To get OUT of the bitcoin margin market on mex, you have to transfer bitcoin out then sell it. People cashing out their winnings will tank the price deeper.

Honestly though, when BTC hits its new bottom it will absolutely BOOM in buying volume which will liq most of these people out.
All the casual people that started shorting BTC will panic when whales starts buying again. It will be the reversed 2017 a.k.a people will HODL their shorts in hope of it coming down again but will end up getting fucked.

SEC can't really do anything about it though, BitMex is not in their jurisdiction. BitMex also doesn't allow US clients.

Everybody is selling to buy back cheaper. This pushes down the price, because people are just waiting to buy back at a good price. Bitmex though allows for a very high margin, so you get liquidated easily if the price moves in a wrong way. (For you.)
