You can't occupy a city with tanks, planes, or artillery. You occupy it with people. A soldier on a street corner can and will get shot or blown up.

Insurgency works, and is impossible to dislodge if it has a rural support network, no matter how many planes, tanks, and uavs you have. See: afghanistan.

Image assumes an armed resistance would organize itself as a state with a central headquarters and regimented military units. No successful insurgency does this.

It is also conceited folly to assume that the US military would not suffer absurd desertion and malignancy rates in the event the US government attempted to use directed force against organized US citizens in north america.
