Felt good watching the live hackathon intro. 60mb of RAM to run a dApp locally as an IOT device and he said that it is going to magnitudes smaller before release. IOTA takes 64gb to attach to the network. No IoT device is going to have that in the near future.

Arthur is flooding his network with cheap hosting and compute to attract people to do their hosting on Holo.

I'll give you a fun anectode about Holo in return.
I've been in crypto for some time (even mined some BTC back in 2011). My mom is aware of this and is mildly curious about it. She's technically savy enough to understand what a blockchain is and the use-case of most shitcoins. At one point she actually helped me not get JUSTed thanks to her experience in a certain industry which allowed me to avoid a certain shitcoin that promised to "disrupt" that industry.
Anyway, one day we're talking about crypto. I tell her I bought into Holo. She starts asking questions. I explain to her what Holochain and Holo are in reasonable detail. She pauses for like 30 seconds and then goes: "I want to buy into this too". The weird thing is that we talked about dozens of shitcoins overall but she never pulled the trigger on anything. She's always been mildly curious but still skeptical about most of them. Holo was the only thing I've seen her get interested in.

Moral of the story: even if you disregard the tech behind this project, it has a certain appeal to normies. I don't honestly know what it is, but it's there. It's not even about the supply and low price like XRP (cause we didn't talk about that), but there's something else that makes it appealing.
This shit will either moon based on the merits of its tech or based on normie hype, but it will moon. I'm certain of this.

are you interested in Holochain or Holo/holofuel?
Holochain is the framework developed by them.
Holo is technically the first dapp built on Holochain that allows holochain apps to connect to the normal web via the hosts in the network.

It's listed as HOT on CMC.
The best source of information is by far their Mattermost chat but you'll have to scroll up and read the early questions and answers. That chat is also full of literal geniuses that could answer any question you have if it's not 100% retarded or hasn't been answered before.

The proper way to research this is the following
1. whitepaper & greenpaper
2. what you didn't understand in them has probably been answered in a simple form in Reddit AMAs
3. If at this point you still have questions you can go on Mattermost for more advanced stuff.

It really depends on what you want. If you are a dev and want to build a holochain app, you can tehnically do that right now, so the best place is Github. If you want to buy and want to do research, follow the steps above.
