10142333 No.10142333 [Reply] [Original]

Last year, I held only BTC and felt as though alts were garbage. I got in right around the BCH fork and sold all my BCH scamcoin for BTC because that's what reddit told me to do.

Now, I'm doing my own research and realizing that regardless of the scaling solution, Roger Ver is not a scammer, he isn't trying to destroy Bitcoin "core," he loves bitcoin, but just disagrees with off-chain scaling.

At this point, who knows who is right, but he is absolutely enthusiastic, benevolent, and wanting to help others use digital currency.

Because of that, I bought 3 BCH that I'm going to hodl indefinitely. I'm very impressed with his professionalism and no longer hate this guy. In retrospect, I think I hated him so much because of the reddit propaganda I saw spread about him.

Not trying to sway anyone one way or another, and desu, I feel like DAG coins such as Nano or Iota are better long term investments, but I am hodling 1 BTC and 3 BCH just in case.

After doing my own research, I agree with him that bitcoin cash is the vision of bitcoin that was described in the whitepaper, and honestly hope that BTC and BCH both succeed in their own ways.

Just wanted to share with you all. Rather than spreading hate, we should all positively influence one another.

Honestly, you're right, but if we are both being realistic, neither has mass adoption. I told myself that I'd never sell a single crypto and only keep buying until I can spend it at McDonalds or Wal-mart, and at that point I'll only use it to buy goods and services. When Bitcoin "core" was pushed to its limit, tx fees skyrocketed and it was a disaster. I'm really excited to see what this BCH stress test will do in september. We will see what happens. Tbh, I just hope everyone wins, crypto gets mass adoption, us early adopters make a little scratch, and poor people stop getting fucked by banks.

Why does everyone have to fight with one another?

This is clearly someone that is a true believer in Bitcoin. This is someone you'd really want to have on your side, working for your crypto. Nobody with this much passion exists on BTC nowadays, BTC have trolls online while BCH have Roger Ver flying all over the world and making important deals and meeting important people.

Dear Bitcoin Cash Supporters,

Why do you continue to dismantle this community?
You didn't get your way, so you had a fucking hissy-fit and fractured the community into the fragmented mess it is now. Even after everyone voted for BIP148, you still decided to irreversibly fuck up the network by hard forking because of "muh segwit blockstream conspiracy". I'm not saying you don't have legitimate concern. Blockstream is definitely a major influencer over SOME of the developers, but they by no means control bitcoin. BIP148 was voted in fair and square by the community. Instead of trying to cooperate with everyone else, you decided it was best to flip the table and fuck everyone over, including yourselves. You have destroyed any unity we had against the central banks and turned the whole crypto market into a cesspool of worthless shitcoins. If you had not flipped your shit over a slightly different technical implementation, we would be so much closer to destroying traditional banking.

You guys always fall for their fucking divide and conquer tactics. Surprise! Surprise! They successfully weakened both sides to the point where crypto is barely a threat to them. Crypto was about taking them on, and destroying their system; yet somehow they managed to be the ones to destroy our system. If crypto is to have a legitimate impact on the world, we must put aside our differences, and take on the real enemy. Stop talking about blocksizes or retarded shit that doesn't even matter at this point. Talk about the real problem at hand, the reason why bitcoin was created in the first place, the fractional reserve banking system. Stop focusing on destroying bitcoin core, and start focusing on destroying the federal reserve note.

If you don't we will both lose.

Bitcoin Cash is certainly interesting but they need to prove that their tech is better by getting some real use cases and by sustaining a high TX count with low fees.

I've looked into the people that back it and their ideas, and it all seems good. But it's time to prove things.

I saw that there is a stress test for BCH coming on Sept 1 and another hardfork/upgrade in November. Maybe by then BCH can start showing some signs of life. Right now I heard it has less TX than Doge.

If BCH can live up to the hype then it truly is a sleeping giant. But like I said, there needs to be proof of life.

also you may not realize it but Bitcoin XT came about simply because of BTC's refusal to just fucking increase the blocksize in 2015. yes, the debate is that old. unlimited (a bitcoin cash full node implementation) derived from XT. however since the blocks still had room to grow XT didn't gain enough support, there were still hope that BTC would snap out of their stubbornness. however this time people have seen how dense BTC people are so bitcoin cash became a success.

>but they need to prove that their tech is better
it's literally the exact same tech that bitcoin have been using for almost 10 years. there's nothing left to prove man.

>it's the exact same tech
Right, that's why most people are content to sit on BTC and not make the switch.

If BCH wants to FLIP then they have to prove that they are worth switching to and are much better.
My feelings are this: institutions and businesses know which coin is better and will slowly ONLINE their applications on the BCH blockchain
But they wont do that until BCH passes certain tests and milestones.
SBI Bits was the beginning , dipping a toe in the space. A subsidiary of a subsidiary.

Big things have the potential to come to BCH but all of the attacking of BTC is dumb. Just go prove that your tech is better by having real use on it.

HAVE been using for almost 10 years. BTC isn't using it anymore with SegWit and these crazy lightning off-chain.

besides even if the tech is the same the limits and mindsets are. BCH has 32 times more on-chain capacity and will allow for upgrades (hard forks) twice per year. BCH doesn't fear 0-conf transactions for small payments. BCH wants as low fees as possible while BTC devs have openly stated that bitcoin isn't for poor people.

I'm not attacking shit btw, all I'm doing is saying how things are. BTC is no longer bitcoin and the people in charge of the GitHub repository should be fucking ashamed of their community that censor posts on reddit and drag poor Roger Ver's name in the dirt after all he's done for them. screw their so-called store of value, I want my digital cash back.

I agree with what you're saying
But the average person won't be swayed by this.

Maybe if BCH comes near parity with BTC it will force people to understand.
But if that's not a possibility in the near future then my suggestion is to make BCH shine by giving it real use cases that make BTC look like old outdated tech (like it is).

Worst thing to do is drag down the entire market by trying to kill BTC just because you think BCH is better.
Maybe in 2020 you can try that play.
But not today.

Focus on BCH becoming VISIBLY better.

actually, I think the right time is about now. we're already in the middle of a 7-month bear market, BTC has lost around 70% of its valuation compared to its ATH... Might as well go into a full blown multi-year bear market and start over with the better product. Once we get back to a point where BTC is used as much as it was back in november-december, we're going to be glad that the scaling debate has been settled once and for all.
