Top tier:
Organ meat:- hearts, liver, etc. Nothing beats it for protein/dollar or for vitamins and mineral content. Taste is the problem for some - personally I love hearts and kidneys but not a huge fan of liver. Another downside is you have to cook it (versus something like fast food which you suggest in the OP).

High tier:
Eggs. Affordable, healthy. You have to cook them but they are easy to make. Can also make them hard boiled and eat them on the go. I hate peeling them though so I never do that.

Mid tier:
Ground beef and sausage - Probably cheaper than most meat options because they are just mixings of leftovers. Medium nutrient density and still need to be cooked unless you get some pre cooked sausage like kielbasa or something.

Fast food - fairly affordable but most convenient. Also probably the least healthy option out of everything here.

Certain cuts of pork and chicken - these are cheaper sometimes than other meat options. Needs cooking, medium nutrient density.

Protein powder - Almost always more expensive than just buying meat, but super convenient and usually a higher quality of protein.

Cheese and yogurts - Usually shit nutrient density but great protein quality. Typically a bit on the expensive side but super convenient.

Low tier:
Beef steak - too expensive for what it is compared to other meat options. At least it always tastes great. Needs to be cooked. Medium nutrient density.

Beans - Poor nutrient density, poor protein content. It is super cheap though, and good source of empty calories if you just need more calories

Nuts - Appears expensive it a first until you realize how calorie dense they are. In any case they are a little on the more expensive side, but suffer all the same downsides as beans.
