I just bought $100 worth of bean cash so I could test staking. It seems like a better idea than PoW though ive never looked into it until recently.


Is anyone else here is staking, and if so what coins and what success are you having?

My only concern is the rich getting richer which is why I think someone should try making a logarithmic version where coins have less staking weight as you get more of them, and if connection is based on IP it could prevent people from just having loads of distributed wallets (possibly?)

Yeah, Im still waiting for some better version of PoS. PoS with masternodes to me is just a distraction to get people to lock up their coins. PoS where the winner gets his reward but also everyone else connected gets a little scraps for participating.

for real though, check out Decred. Hybrid PoW/PoS, no masternode bullshit, just direct PoS, you get like 20% ROI a year currently, but most of the block rewards still go to PoW miners so it's not a "rich get richer" scenario for stakers.
