I have to agree with you on this. A direct line to the president is never a bad thing regardless of how good or bad a he is at his job. It allows one to interpret news regarding the president without having to put up with Fox or CNN's propaganda. It's liks trimming the fat.
Only bad thing is when he tweets something that has to do with foreign relations as that usually causes the stock market to go volatile for the better half of a day. You'd think investors would be used to it right now as one of the strengths of the free market is its adaptability, but that isn't the case in this moment of time.
