Since the bcash fork, I've been in Monero just in case. It's a good place to hodl if you don't want to be risking anything with the bcash vs core debate. when bcash finally dies, i'll probably convert back to Bitcoin.

>For example, on or about February 1, 2016, the gfade47 account received the instruction to "[p]lease send exactly 0.026043 bitcoin to" a certain thirty-four character bitcoin address

So I went ahead and looked through the blocks on this date and found the transaction in question here: https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/tx/0fd10a297245feac5e42cab2a58fad2f8262c4bde548c99c7e7373cfda6b65bc

Implications:
>any address associated with the above transaction, either before or after, is associated with Russian intelligence operations (((allegedly)))

If someone can prove otherwise, then this indictment could be thrown out by the court of public opinion...

In any case, Russian intelligence is probably not using Bitcoin to move money around through crypto anymore...

///Upcoming Developments///

Bulletproofs - A Reduction in Transaction Sizes and Fees

Since the introduction of Ring Confidential Transactions (Ring CT), transaction amounts have been hidden in Monero, albeit at the cost of increased transaction fees and sizes. In order to mitigate this issue, Bulletproofs will soon be added to reduce both fees and transaction size by 80% to 90%. This is great news for those transacting smaller USD amounts as people commonly complained Monero's fees were too high! Not any longer though! More information can be found here. Bulletproofs are already working on the Monero testnet, and developers were aiming to introduce them in March 2018, however it could be delayed in order to ensure everything is tried and tested.
