It absorbs oils and lets them get vacuumed up, they even sell odored baking soda specifically for that (usually as a pet product for some reason). DON’T use the large grain baking soda they sell for freshening fridges and cabinets. That shit is worthless for everything it’s just the caked shit they can’t sell for food use.
Running at angle helps getting stuff out too, especially low carpets
But MOVING SLOWLY is the biggest thing. People run around and pick up nothing and think that means it’s clean. Go slow, empty the filter whenever stuff starts settling (it should be moving around or your losing suck power) and clean the roller and pipes every time to help keep the motor powerful.
