Another quick scrapping lesson:

Picrel is a typical "bread and butter" scrap deal worth $50 spot, nothing special about it but it's instructive. The listing has good pictures of the sterling stamp and even the weight of 2.4oz was given in description.

Unless specifically stated, always assume ounces are in avoirdupois, and if you ever come across any similar listing but without a weight given, you can quickly search eBay for the same item, "sterling spanish lace serving fork" in this case, then locate a better more informative listing where the weight is given like this one (this seller's listings are a trove of info I've banked thanks to them):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/363033353022

So even if the one I bought didn't have the weight stated, you can figure out very quickly what they do weigh. The more informative listing states 2.2ozt, so 68-69 grams for all spanish lace serving forks of the same type. If you have a buy/pass price point of $0.50/g, it is an instant decision that such a fork will be added to the scrap pile.
