Why do stocks of other companies still remain on the books despite being "worthless"

Don't strain your brain too hard, I'll tell you. When a company goes through CH11, shares get cancelled and reissued, especially one being carved up. Oh you'll seethe and cope, kvetch and dilate, fud and cry but at the end of the day this is the only company where the DTCC have instructed brokers to remove (recall) the shares.
