I’m starting to hate Cramer, but two things he recommends that I think are good strategies are:
1. Always wait for a pullback. Buy quality companies on a 5-8% pullback. Eventually, investors will take profits, or the sector or the whole market will pull the stock down.
2. “Pyramid buying” - make that first buy on the pullback a small, speculative position. If it pulls back further, and it’s a big enough move, then you make a somewhat larger buy—assuming the story hasn’t changed and you still believe in the company.
