There are six possible paths at the start
>You pick gold ball 1 in box 1
>You pick gold ball 2 in box 1
>You pick the gold ball in box 2

>You pick the silver ball in box 2
>You pick silver ball 1 in box 3
>You pick silver ball 2 in box 3

Once you pick out a gold ball, you now know that
>You pick gold ball 1 in box 1
>You pick gold ball 2 in box 1
>You pick the gold ball in box 2
are the only valid options, since you didn't pick a silver ball. 2/3 of those choices would lead to you picking a gold ball next, so that is the answer. It's not 50/50 because the fact you picked out a gold ball means that it's more likely than not that you picked out of box 1.
