but they move on memes and dreams (large shareholders in the company doing things), not by the broader services/commodities market factors

they are always jumpy but mostly decaying, what you see with biotech shenanigans right now does not change when recession hits, they continue to move oddly, while major businesses and markets fall in their cycles

they are the opposite end of recession-proof that WM and Colgate get (demand that is constant, because they are essential spending no matter what). instead, biotechs have so little influence from the broad market that they dont care if broader market is seeing double digit losses every day, because biotechs have no integration with the broad market (relatively speaking)
