>Deep state
Look, you have big international finance involved in Ethereum. The deep state is only their administrative arm for managing the slave class, i.e. you and me.

>eth 2.0 comes out, fixes the scaling problems and subsequently pumps
full 2.0 is a long way out, eth just needs to be the settlement layer for a variety of layer 2 solutions, you can bring gas costs down by 90% if you're willing to wait a few minutes and use an existing second layer network
>something else, if only temporarily, can offer way way way lower gas prices and ETH dumps as a result
it doesn't matter, eth has institutional support

eth is currently just a normal crypto, only thing that really distinguishes it is it's size, it's going to do 2 things to change that
switch from proof of work mining to proof of stake
implement sharding
currently it's mined like almost every crypto is, it's going to switch from mining to staking, where you don't rely on hashpower to secure the network, but have validators put their own eth on the line to ensure the network is running
a limited start of that is expected late july
sharding is switching the network from 1 to over 100, massively increasing the amount of transactions per second
eventually there's supposed to be staking and sharding, but it's been delayed for about 5 years now, currently eta is 2021

I think it's promissing, if you have $1-2k that you can lose 100% of I'd buy 5-10 eth and hold for a year or two

It’s all about adoption though. Look at who is spearheading the EEA and the rest of its members. Now look up EEA EMINENT and lastly the Baseline Protocol. The writing is on the wall with this one, you literally have Microsoft and Ernst & Young telling the world’ “Were building this protocol that will make it seamless to integrate legacy systems with the blockchain and were going to use it to onboard other enterprises to DLT tech”. This is straight from the source:

https://www.ey.com/en_gl/news/2020/03/ey-launches-baseline-protocol-an-open-source-initiative-for-the-public-etherum-blockchain

Tezos has certain functionalities that ETH does not possess, yes I would agree. But I personally place value on adoption and functional utility of the underlying asset. Without utility, you have speculation. My hunch is that Tezos will fulfill certain niche smart contract roles, but the enterprise “backbone” chains will either be Ethereum or Hyperledger. This is where interoperability will come into play, as well as security and privacy guarantees via trusted execution environments (TEEs). At the end of the day, this is just my personal opinion. I am just here to engage in conversation and learn from others.

It mooned to around $420 before ICOs were a big thing. Ethereum Enterprise Alliance was a big catalyst as I recall. Seeing this is what made me buy in early 2017.

See pic.

Also, all of these parties joined the EEA because they thought ETH already had Chainlink functionality.
They have zero use for smart contracts that cannot use external data.

You know about the EEA (Enterprise Ethereum Alliance) right?
It's the main reason ETH mooned in 2017.

All these parties entered into the EEA solely because of "smart contracts".
Which ETH cannot deliver without peer-to-peer oracles.

All these names are waiting for Chainlink.

Bro, "smart contracts" are the reason the EEA even exists at all.

See all these names?
They all on-boarded solely for that reason, not knowing ETH can't actually deliver smart contracts without peer-to-peer oracles.
