To be fair, information technology and it's associated technologies are a giant black box for most people. This is in part by design, not malicious mind you, but it's built so that you don't have to understand how it works. To quote a famous recycler: it just works. In addition, most people don't understand the economy or economics at all. At. All. They just understand their job or, maybe, if they're a bit more savvy, their vocation. Again, that's not malicious or negligent on their part, rationally there's very little payoff for investing the energy in knowing more than you have to know for day to day survival. To turn back toward crypto, it's easy to see why people are hesitant about it. It's the intersection of two big areas they use every day -- money and technology -- but don't understand very well. They just know that some people are making money off those two things and it isn't them. Add to that a situation where there isn't a tangible deliverable product and or service and, yeah, there' a natural built in hurdle for comprehension.

So take all that and the fact that contemporary media is not, in any way, designed to inform its consumers and you have a situation where it's an uphill battle to help anyone to understand crypto. I say all this knowing that its going to come across as elitist and very self congratulatory, look at us, we're in on the joke nobody else gets, but I don't know how else to parse the situation. I also say this with all humility: I don't understand everything about economics or crypto and I fully recognize that, for all our research and discussion, we could be the fools we're being cast as.
