Why does everybody keep bringing up VISA level Bitcoin when that is something that is at least 50 years away?

Fact is right now all we needed was just a measly 1 MB block size increase but BTC refused to deliver and now won't be able to undo the damage they've done.

To be honest we all know that most likely VISA level transactions will never be needed but changing 1 line of code just to meet today's needs should be a no-brainer. It doesn't make sense to gimp the bottom layer (bitcoin) that you build a second layer (lightning) on top of unless you have a ulterior motive.
