How can i hedge my portfolio?

Buying Short ETFs? Or CFDs? Options?

HELP ME OUT

Im a student living in germany and I just found out that mommy Merkel is giving away zero interest loans for students because of coronavirus.

Basically you get a monthly payment of up to 650€ for a whole year, without having to pay any interest on it.

After the payment period ends, theres a waiting time lasting 18 months and then the repayment period starts.

You can choose if you pay back the loan all at once, or in rates down to 20€ per month.

I dont really need that money, but i thought of applying for it anyway and then buy stocks with it.

Is there literally no downside or am i a brainlet?

Of course i could lose that money if another crash happens, but I did think of buying MSCI World/EM ETFs, so I "only" lose that money if the world economy goes to shit, but if that happens there are other problems and i dont think the state gives a shit about a small loan of a few k Euros to some poor student in that case.

Also, redpill me about Bonds. Why do people buy Bonds or Bond ETFs? I dont understand this.

Should i just buy some broad ETFs like MSCI World and EM or should i buy individual stocks?

I have time to research, but is it worth it? How many people do outperform the market?

So when is the time to buy back in?
I sold a month ago and im in cash since then.
