I think it was oversaturation, people had spent ten years collecting the state quarters and now ANOTHER series comes out, people have been over-quartered. Shame because I personally think ATB I struck much better overall. Inflation was definitely a big one too, I used to save coins for snacks and drinks as a kid now why bother. I only saved quarters for purified water and that's it, the rest go to coinstar.

I kept all of the Hitler and Natsoc stamps, the rest I'm getting rid of the moment I find a buyer I won't have to drive over an hour away for. Hell, even someone that just wants to get the box out of my house.

You can't rely on collector markets for everything, especially when the market literally dies.
My brother inherited a collection of stamps that was once worth over $5,000 and we can't even give the damn things away. And we're in central Florida too, this is bored old fart central. The 1986 Silver Eagle proof and $2.00 face silver dimes also thrown in have felt more substantial. At least he let me keep the Hitler stamps. And holy shit, I took this picture exactly a year ago, wild.

It's pretty dead. My brother inherited a theoretically $5,000+ stamp collection he wanted to sell for gold and we literally can't GIVE THEM away. And I even live by a big retirement community. Old people just want cash while young people would rather collect action figures, comic books, Legos, blu ray, or vidya. At least he let me keep the Hitler stamps.
