We arent at media attnetion. CNBC has always casually mentioned bitcoin since 2017. They mentioned it more today because its over 20k but its not media attention. Besides BTC is sticking to the 4 year cycle so far. That would be a peak of Nov/Dec 2021, 1 year after recovering to ATH in early dec of this year.

Essentially I am creating puts and hope that the stock price will stay over the strike. When it doesnt I roll the put over to another week or month for credits. BABA is great for this because their IV is usually quite high so doing this makes more money than simply hodling the stock (for me)

That said, you should sell the call when you think that SPY peaked. Or at least before close. Exercising the call yourself is not in your interest.
