I think they will stay on the same chain, but that the coins will be splittable for a time. Maybe for a few days.
The correct play is to accumulate as much of whichever split you think will be The One left standing after it all.

It all comes down to whether there is any exchange willing to list the coins as being separate.
I guess you could trade with someone in a one-on-one transaction (my SV for your ABC) but that's too personal for me.
