College guy here. I recently had a project where a few Classmates and I had to work as a team. At the end of the assignment, we were given forms to evaluate each other.

This got me thinking. If all of us rated each other highly, then we would all succeed so long as our project worked.

If this is true for essentially any successful project, why do people give negative evaluations of their peers? They have nothing to gain in doing so in an academic environment.

So I ask you /biz/, "Has there ever been a time where giving negative feedback on a coworker after a successful project had directly helped your career?"

Also is it a wise idea to do so?

Khan academy has an introductory course on SQL. I believe Stanford also has free online offerings of their introduction to database courses. MIT's open courseware might have something as well.

That's pretty much what I'm worrying about. I have been trying to find clients that need my services, but the issue is that pretty much the only way I can do this is by using the yellow pages or just driving around town looking for new businesses.

I go to trade shows and pitch my services at local marketplace venues to clients who have a unique product, but nobody ever calls me back after I pitch. The majority of these people are good at what they do. All they need is a platform to get their products some web exposure.

Maybe it's my pricing model. I charge a $60 day rate for my services. I determine the amount of time required reasonably to complete their site and startup their micro-data ground work for seo. That's my quote and I stick to it.

There has to be another way of generating sales leads.

Web dev here.

I'm just starting up. LLC application is in the mail. Agent mailbox is set up. Articles of operation are drafted. I'm designing the website this week using bootstrap. $300 initial investment enough to last a month.

Having my little sister design the company logo. Just got her first tablet.

I'm good for web design, hosting and social media monitoring.

I'm just wondering what I should charge monthly. I'm just starting out with this and I don't know what everything should cost for an unestablished company.

I think the guy in the video is doing it wrong to start with.

He should just be using acid for the first step. Mixing in the hydrogen peroxide doesn't really help.

Ultimately his finished product isn't pure either but rather gold mixed with junk metals. Making chemically pure gold requires a dissolution/precipitation process involving aqua regia which is a mixture he never uses in his process.

I've never worked for lionsbridge, but if their practices are at all like Leapforce's then these people who left bad reviews couldn't meet the criteria of the job and were terminated quickly.

The wages data I got from a previous employee.
