It's how much liquidity there is at particular price points. Trying to sell 10M link would reduce the marketcap by more than 2B. A liquid token could have a lower marginal price but higher actual average sell price per any amount.
If 6M link change is a good proxy for net buying, it was enough to add $2.1B to marketcap which also works in the opposite direction.
