I'm "friend" with a whale part of a big group worth around 15 000 BTC (the number is probably a bit bullshit but no doubt these guys are loaded).
They actually don't really give a much fuck about Bitcoin gold and majority of them are convinced the 2x fork will not happen because F2Pool pulled out its support to the NYA and others are expected to follow (basically if its goes under 80% support it's games over and we are at 85% right now).

What will happen though will be the Byzantium fork (check what happened last time Ethereum forked) this monday and whales are accumulating a fuckton of ETH since this morning and are extremely bullish for the next week.

Don't sell everything if you are full BTC but place 20-25% in ETH, if you are in deep shit with your alts it's the opportunity to recover.

I had the same problem with ETH on Bittrex. I started the support ticket an a couple of days later popped into the chat. They were aware of the issue, called it Geth Bug involving some sort of collision, then ranted about scalability issues with ETH.
