As a collector of both trading (and sketch) cards I agree. For myself I am very selective and conscious of what I am buying for cards. Usually old school and based sets as well as getting sketch cards from non "consoomy" groups and artists.
Any and all hobbies have large garbage elements. It's really about mindset. Are you going to hoard cheap and mass-produced garbage or be focused and collect what speaks to you and is of quality. I feel sadness and even disgust to those who just mass buy fukos or large mass produced cards sets without thought.
