there are a ton of things you need to learn to be competent cloud engineer. And the stack is always growing, shifting. snowflake isn't just a db but a cloud vendor anostic data warehousing solution and one of the important features as to why it's getting adopted by large enterprises is it data tokenization and sharing and querying of that data for analytics, etc. /g/ is completely shit when it comes to tech or at least tech you can really get paid by, you only need read what the majority of /g/ think of Kubernetes which by the way you should be taking the time to learn if you want to be a cloud engineer.

i did this. I was making $140K as tech lead and went to a job making $95K in 2015 mostly junior role. i was stressed the fuck out and working 70 hrs a week before but it's been 5 years of watching people who are idiots getting promotions and paid significantly more than me. The thing is I have been working from home 98% of the time, doing nothing but shitposting, cypto trading and really gotten used to this.
