TSM is a bluechip and will get US subsidies, but it's being cut off from PRC. It doesn't have nearly the potential to pump, it's more for safe long term gains. That's why I'm holding it.

BUT UMC allegedly has ties to the CCP.

Now that the CCP and Huawei are cut off from TSMC, they're going to have to pump incredible resources into modernizing their semiconductor industry. Maybe they throw a few billion into the industry, maybe UMC gets a boatload of cash?
