Because they were bred to stop thinking of their mistakes as mistakes and instead of as inconveniences and the system would ultimately change to make it all better. no matter what happened. And the people they paid did the actual work to make that happen. Your only job at that point is to figure out enough about how all of it works to make sure its running in the way most likely to benefit you. Revolving door they just kept assuming they could do absolutely anything they wanted without consequence. That kind of thing is meant to be dealt with privately by authority and I am not against things being handled by a different law at certain junctures but these are not even remotely our betters. Repeated instance again and again where it was perfectly fine to do whatever it took to maintain their hierarchical system of control. No matter what the middle class did, whether you were smarter, more talented, whatever, you were going to get ground up to feed the thing. No sense of ownership or respect in the class that actually knows the mechanics of things because we are guilded for it. All of that to land themselves right here. Incredibly upsetting but still typical human behavior really if you look at our history. TOP MEN. Endless fighting for who would get to be first in line to exploit the world. Think about the pyramid of monkeys we are actually taking ownership of here... And that it's always been that way. Nothing to be proud of, only that we will be first among them. Rules exist only to keep the regular people doing what they need to so the rest of us can play with the big pieces.
I was going to spend a paragraph talking about a nerdy thing I wanted to fund in the biohealth space but this is hardly the place to shout things you want to throw a ton of money at.
