How can insurance be good for me when it must be a net loss statistically speaking? Insurance companies make a profit, meaning they pay out less than they take from customers. This means they get more from the average customer than they give back to them in payouts. Is it just a scam? The justification I hear from normal people is usually
>well what if you hit someone's lamborghini
but this is one of those scenarios that are so incredibly unlikely they're not worth considering. If you can justify insurance with this then you can justify not leaving your house because you might get hit by a truck.
