Lets go over the basic fundamental ideal of what the concept of an economy is or more specifically the concept of currency. The famous line of saying "it's just money, it's made up" is just one part of it. The other part of it deals with how society perceives it. We are in fiat currency which means we can bend reality to how we want it. Let's say Joe is 1000 dollars in debt. Well all you need to do is just erase a couple zeros and he is only 10 dollars in debt. All you have to do is change the way society sees and accepts what is currently in front of them. If you can make them believe that the national debt is no longer an issue then it wont be an issue because we have simply wiped out those numbers and started a new floor.

Reality is what we make of it, the phrase "mind over matter" or what we now know it as "meme magic" is a lot more powerful than you might think if utilized correctly.

USO did a reverse stock split last night.

United States Oil Fund, LP (stock symbol: USO) has announced a 1-for-8 reverse stock split in its shares of common stock, effective before market open on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Our records show that you own shares of this exchange-traded fund (ETF) in your account, so we want to be sure you have the information you need.

Here's What You'll Need to Know

The 1 for 8 reverse split means that for every eight shares of USO common stock you currently own, you'll receive one share of (new) USO common stock to replace them.

The stock price will be affected by this event: it will increase to eight times what it was at the close of trading on Tuesday, April 28. When the markets open on April 29, your net position in USO will be equal to what it was before the split, plus or minus market movements.

USO will not distribute partial shares. If the number of shares you hold at the time of the split can't be evenly divided by eight, you'll receive a cash payment in lieu of fractional shares.

If you are trading options on USO, an in-the-money option will result in the exercise, or assignment, of 12.5 shares instead of the standard 100 shares.

USO will not be available for trading in Extended Hours Trading Overnight (EXTO) (normally 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. ET) on Tuesday night, April 28, or Wednesday morning, April 29.

You don't have to do anything. This corporate action will happen automatically, and we will adjust your positions once the new shares are received. However, because of the size of this reorganization, there could be delays in adjusting your account before market open on
April 29.

If you have any questions, please reply to this message to write us.

Sincerely,

TD Ameritrade Client Services

OK /biz/ I have a simple question about capital gains tax and disposal. Bear in mind that I am a brainlet and know nothing about tax law.

Lets say I buy $20000 worth of coin X in January. By May, the value of my holdings has risen to $50000. I exchange my holdings in coin X for $50000 worth of coin Y. As I've made a disposal I now owe CGT on $30000.

But hold on. By November, the value of my coin Y stash has plummeted to $10000. I sell my stash of coin Y, to avoid having to pay CGT on the $30000 when I'm already in the red.

But wait. I actually believe in the long term future of coin Y, so I immediately rebuy $10000 dollars worth of it. My question is, am I still registering a loss for tax purposes? Or does buying back the asset immediately after disposing of it nullify the original disposal?

Have you tried retreats / spirit walks? When you go to remote areas like mountains / jungles and take psychedelics with shaman?
I had few folks like you in my circles and they all had same problems when they hit glass ceiling and nothing makes any sense, so they start buying lambos, make a barrel roll, end up in hospital, then in few months they are doing some other crazy things which can end up on graveyard. Do you consider yourself as despair / depressed person, or you still have fulfillment from stuff you're doing?

There is no magic in this world. No astrology, no reality layers, only men and their self made prophecies.

Brian can say what he likes but coinbase answers to its investors. All someone has to do is ask brian why he's cooperating with someone who supports banning gay marriage for him to drop this.

Good argument.

I was in this due to all the "writing on the wall" but dropped it when I actually sat down and thought it through. This guy is no Thiel, he can't get away with having non-conformist views in this industry, he doesn't have the pull.
