There are no places left to go and just talk with people who look like you and speak free of restraint. There are few social gathering spots that don't center around alcohol or paid entertainments and it creates increasing levels of loneliness in the Doomer, but again, there is no way out, because the alternative is a sad, empty impression of what a relationship should be - both romantic and otherwise.

So perhaps if society is so fucked, the best option is to simply put your nose to the grindstone and make your money to bail. Your vision is to buy the farm and homestead. At least that's a goal, but you now have another problem. You need money.
