Why should """leftists""" support it? It's not green, and its a nightmare to decomission (we've never successfully completed a decomissioning).

Why not wait until we actually NEED to use them, like when the permian is drying up? The tech is constantly improving, so why not put it off? Let France be the guinea pigs, and when SkunkWorks has some badass new reactor designs or makes a fusion breakthrough, then we can go nuclear in a big way.
