Is it still viable? Is it still worth it now? What would the path be for someone looking into front end fagging then branching out in a 3-6 month time frame? I'm a 19 year old obese incel NEET and I was a "gifted kid" throughout all of school until I hit a wall in high school and was forced to study and couldn't keep up with the pace. I'm slowly losing weight but I need money and I can't do any sales related job because I'm too high inhib. I've coded before and enjoyed it, but I'd rather not go to university just yet. I'm going to get aesthetic first at a slow pace and also want to build up confidence and have a nice stack of cash from a skill, hopefully programming will be that skill. Please help me out anons.

the fact there's been layoffs means the demand was too high for what the market actually needs. And since demand was too high, the principle of supply and demand mean competitive salaries were priced too high. If you got a new tech job over covid you are getting overpaid. My unemployed swe bro friends keep complaining about companies offering lower salaries than they had before. How is it possible an entire sector of really smart people are somehow too stupid to understand the most basic principle in business. Yeah yeah your work "can be infinitely scalable", and so is the work of all your competitors as you fight for literal fractions of penny in profit margin lmao
