It looks like today's strength in the dude weed was mainly due to the credible rumors that Altria (big tobacco) is considering buying a stake in Aphria. Aphria flew up somewhere in the neighborhood of 20% today before pulling back to +15% at close. ACB and WEED held steady, both were in the green for much of the day and closed at modest fraction of 1% loss each.

I believe this strength under highly bearish overall market conditions indicate the dude weed sector will indeed break new ATH before the end of the year. These market troubles are only going to temporarily delay the moon shots. October 17th sell off may not occur as expected. If the news is long line ups and supply shortages for day one sales, sector will pump on that news.
