Exact. What i extra-like with silber is what is seen as a problem to many who are too blinded by the potential of gold-backed currencies : central banks don't own any significant quantities of it. Thus, beside their paper game, they don't have any potential leverage on the physical commodity itself, like they do with gold.
One major factor to explain the dump of gold prices post-2010 was central banks dumping huge loads of their gold on the markets, in big batches at a time to have maximum selling pressure on the spot price.
It was vital to central bankers to have seemingly strong currencies right when they entered ZIRP (zero interest rate policy) and massive QE. And for that, the main tool used is always to sabotage the benchmark currencies' performances are calculated against : gold.

Not only silver and gold have around the same tonnage of above ground in investment form, but at least with silver the owners mostly are industrials producing real goods, and common folks who use it as savings like us.
