Imagine you had a rich relative who was going to bequeath you a lot of money, and they were old and ailing, but you had no idea if they were going to pass on and leave you the money in 1,2,5 or 10 years.
Imagine seething about that. Imagine if anyone asked how you were going, you'd furiously answer "Terrible. I just want my life to start. My stupid relative is still alive. My life is completely meaningless until I get that money."
Imagine how that would reflect on you as a person.
