So people who just want to increase their stack by X% to hit a nice round number. Why don't you just work overtime or something? No stress from making bad swings, no risk of losing stock sizes buying back in, and of course no short term gains to bother with. Even if you did go from 8k to 10.1k you'd still be fucked against a wall by uncle Sam for part of that 2.1k so ultimately it is still less than 10k. If you keep DCAing with each paycheck using just your overtime pay you should be able to get at least (7.25*1.5*8)/4.74=18 linkies or (7.25*1.5*12)/4.74=27.5 linkies, or if more average pay (20*1.5*8)/7.42=50.6 or (20*1.5*12)/4.74=75.9. That's between 18 and 75 link/wk just from one extra shift of ot. If you make above average and I've seen a few here in glowy threads that do its closer to (40*1.5*8)/4.74 or (40*1.5*12)/4.74 which is 101.2 and 151.9 link/wk. This adds up over the months so a year of min wagie 8hr shifts to 18*52=936 or average 12hr dude to 75.9*52=3,946.8. Link could go up or down but you're putting the same in each week in usd so you will approach the average price movements with your basis. A good swing might 1.5 his stack over a year, a bad one might 0.75x his stack or worse, sitting on the sidelines hoping to get back in at just half his original position.
I sometimes get that feeling we're going to drop, and sometimes it's 10 or 20%, but the pumps always come out of nowhere and I can't ever tell for how long. Add it noise from BTC doing its thing and there's too many variables for what's at stake. How different is life with 100m vs 200m when you get paid quarterly from steaking anyway? Even eating out and staying in a hotel every night your spending won't exceed income at these levels.
