Another thought I had is that the chainlink network prevents tampering with the data enroute to the blockchain. For instance, if using a centralized oracle, NLIS would likely have to send their data to that centralized oracle who would then put it on the blockchain for use in smart contracts, but with contracts involving a lot of money, the data could be tampered with at that centralized point. With chainlink, no third party can tamper with the data the NLIS logs as it gets put on the blockchain and is used in smart contracts. By using a decentralized node, you can be certain the data the NLIS uploads is their data, and not have to worry that the data was changed after they recorded it. The more I think about it the more it sounds like your example is a perfect use case for chainlink and smartcontracts. As the livestock are logged with their tags, all sorts of automatic processing and tracking could occur using smartcontracts. Hope that helps Aussie bro.
