OK niggers, not OP but I'm about to pull the trigger on this shit. I talked to my gf and we were thinking take $2,500 and buy bitcoins. Then take $1000 worth of BTC and use it to buy ETH. Does that seem like a good starting point?

But before I do, I need to buy bitcoins. I've been reading for the past two hours, and I have a basic handle on wallets. I downloaded mycelium to my phone. Now I'm ready to buy.

Suggestions on where/how to buy bitcoins? I see some of these places offer referral bonuses. I was gonna use coinbase, but then I saw this post on leddit and it kind of scared me away.
