while in theory you would expect that the epidemic restrictions would damage the economy and that the billionaires would disapprove, the reality was the complete opposite
the rich got massively richer throughout it and were enthusiastic about the restrictions. they even swallowed up the market share of smaller/medium businesses that went bankrupt

chances are they want to continue this wealth consolidation at the hands of the few, through a shock event that only the top 0.01% of big money will be able to handle
before it was all about tech, now it will be about "sustainability". only the top ranked ESG companies will survive this, "the environment" and "russia" will be used to shut down all opposition much like "the science" was used previously

we already see glimmers of this in the dutch treatment of farmers; farmers are very low on the ESG ladder; they will be replaced with insect breeders
