I'd like to explain to you why the BTC ETF was approved, and why it will never be banned. The United States government has seized a very substantial amount of crypto assets over the years from underground operations like the silk road. It ultimately is much more profitable for us to not only seize digital assets (don't have to pay our agents to dig and transport stacks of physical cash away from drug lords after a bust, nor spend thousands of hours on stakeouts monitoring the global underground drug trade), but we can also sit on those assets while our financial subcontractors like blackrock market them to the general public exponentially increasing their value, and also using what holdings we do have as leverage for national debt. You've probably noticed that various third world countries are starting to recognize and adopt BTC specifically as a legitimate form of national payment. This for us is the financial equivalent of them directly adopting USD because the assets we've seized are VERY substantial. It also acts as a hedge against countries like China that banned BTC for no other reason than to stop their citizens from inadvertently inflating the digital assets we've seized and thus giving us more leverage in global markets. There will be no rug pull as we're capable and willing to sit and utilize said assets for decades to come. If there is a pullback in price, we're not selling, just holding and refusing to sell. With that being said we're also not buying any, just seizing it while we continue to print more fiat for the masses. In 2008 we discovered that it's more fiscally and politically advantageous to stymie recessions with inflation. By marketing crypto to the general public we get to have our cake and eat it too. BTC is like govt bonds on steroids.

I have some crypto that I made a bunch of trades with and I dont know how to find proof of the original purchase so I'd rather spend it without it going through a bank.

kraken has less fees but coinbase has more coins and almost zero fees on stable-stable pairs

if you want to get a little frisky, grab a good VPN and open an account on some sketchy exchange with no KYC like MEXC or something and buy shitcoins/trade futures on there but you will likely lose all the money you deposit on those exchanges
