You don't really need to do much beyond cleaning and being nice to people, and you can hire people to clean shit for you. You won't make much money, but it's kind of safe money.
You don't even need to own property, you can rent hotels or houses for this.
No, it doesn't have to be glamorous, people are looking for a comfortable bed, a decent bathroom and a room to leave their stuff.
Risks are lower than renting for long periods, since tourists won't destroy your stuff. In fact, they will barely use it.

Is there something lazier than this? I doubt it.
