right, but how does that stop interest rates from being risen yet again?

Everything does follow money supply (and CPI prints do, with 1-1.5 year delay). So, M2 annualized rate of change has fallen to 10%-ish, meaning in about a year, all else equal I'd say, next year we see annualized monthly CPI prints of 5%-ish (i.e. half of reality as per usual).

However I just want to add: there are important additional modifiers to this. Namely of the real cost of labor and energy which fluctuates with their supply. Globalization (abundant cheap labor) has peaked. US shale (abundant cheap oil) has peaked. Both were at the end of their ropes well before the recent geopolitical bullshit accelerated their decline.

IDK exactly what these additional factors do to CPI except to say 5% a year from now is probably optimistic, outside of the Fed purposefully putting us in deep recession after midterms. Which they still might do.

Anyways, buy OIL. Watch for the hawkishness to come back tho, esp after midterms.

The concept of money velocity is fine, but the stat you are looking at that says it's dropping, is in turn derived from other stats which under-report price levels. If you increase M2 but don't accurately count price increases, of course it must appear that velocity is dropping. I don't know true velocity, nor is there a good way to estimate it outside of a more honest price index than the government is willing to provide.

Literally the only thing keeping me out of Monero at the moment is waiting for the gov to finally get around to popping the tether bubble.

I know this is primarily affecting Bitcoin. Still, I feel the fallout will sink the whole market. I wish I could better quantify how much, though.

Considering the sheer amount, you might want to get a safe and insurance. It might also be wise to spread out the purchases for personal security. I wouldn't be as conservative as >>25234465. I'm surprised he's not suggesting at least 1oz gold and at least 1 tube or a monster box of silver... Unless you go full silver, ~10k is pretty manageable even when its loose. make sure to check https://findbullionprices.com/ for pricing. You might also want to consider a third party custodian that isn't a bank nor a dealer. As much as /pmg/ is right about "if you don't hold it, you don't own it". You probably don't actually want to hold 200k of PM.

Where do you fellas go to get either/both a) calendars of upcoming known crypto events/releases and b) breaking news, rumors, etc?

I use coincalendar to keep an eye on future shit that might be promising, but for breaking news I'm pretty much relegated to the trash that gets posted on /biz/ since I'm too hikki to cultivate a good twitter feed.

What's the point of "just get a job" if it won't make a difference on a resume?
