People dumping alts to hold BTC in hopes of small (by crypto standards) gains are thinking too short-term. Money will rush back into alts as soon as a critical mass of people realize that BTC is stagnating or dipping, and that money will come in the form of market buys. Any crypto with heavy Chinese involvement is going to be too volatile to attract real money interests and innovators, will be rife with scams and will run the risk of Chinese miners controlling the network like they do with BTC. The best bet right now, if you want consistent long-term gains is ETH.
