There were ~71 cases a while ago in Ohio due to infected hamsters or something being stored next to monkepox infected animals from africa
Another few in Europe in the 00's but they were infected while they were in Africa.
~100 people outside of africa have been infected since it's discovery until May this year. No cases of human to human transmission until May of this year. Here are some geneticists that are confused by how many mutations this strain has.
