in my city, they've installed all these weird cameras at every intersection in the ghetto. i didn't think much of it until a friend of mine who's a reporter was doing a story on the police department's use of tech and he got to go in their control room thing- apparently as cars and people pass by these cameras, it automatically scans their license plate and walking pattern and stuff and checks if they have any warrants out for their arrest, etc...and this is in a smaller midwestern city, like not exactly state of the art stuff. spooky if you ask me
