Can someone pls explain to a retard like me how offerings work?
Company needs to raise cash, sells new shares to an underwriter at the offering price. Underwriter then sells it on the public exchange (public offering) for more than the offering price. Spread is the underwriter's gain. Is that right? I know there's a thing called "best effort". What happens to unsold shares? What are the warrants for? Is there an underwriter involved for direct offerings?
