On September 16th, we could possibly see the biggest railroad strike to happen since 1877. Over 115,000 railworkers are expected to strike and walk out leaving entire lines of trains idle on the tracks. This is significant since over 1/3 of our supply chains come from the trains. Food, metals and even coal come from the railroads.

The MSM claim that certain unions like UPRR have reached tentative agreements. But it really does seem like they were only tentative and didn't really go anywhere. Class 1 railroads are already reducing service and Tuesday will also have networks shut down belonging to Norfolk.

If this strike goes on for even a month, we could probably go into a Great Depression real fucking soon. This might also inspire the rest of the freight industries like longshoremen, truckers, mailmen etc. to go on strikes throughout the nation too.

I have a paid off house, no utility costs, vegetable garden, home gym, low cost hobbies (lake to swim in, library card, beautiful forest to hike in).

Savings:
Around 50k in the bank
Around 25k invested aggresively (return yield of 15-20%)
Around 25k in index (return yield 5%-10%)

I save around 2.8k now which i invest/save, but i am completely unhappy. I am basically in the prime of my life, but lose 3/7 of my week working on a job i hate.

My plan is to semi-retire and work 1-2 days max, doing something i like. Spend the rest of my week, to get more /fit/, follow a more strict diet, get more sunlight, be more outside, hang-out with my friends and family more often, read more, run more, hone my guitar skills, spend more time in my garden, learn a new language etc.

Or i could wagecuck for 5 years more and have around 150-200k more saved up, which i could invest in high div funds or buy a cheap appartement and rent it out for an extra 800-900 a month. But lose 5 years of my prime...
