It's my belief that the 20th century economic model based on concentration of productive power in a relative handful of businesses that employ legions of "wagecucks" will give way to a new economy. There will be a renewal of "cottage industry" where individuals will be able to own their own virtual businesses and sell their products or their skills directly to people who need them. This is already happening on sites like etsy, Amazon, etc. Megacorps will continue to exist, but they will not hold as much power over sources of income as they have in the past. Those who recognize this shift, and who can sell something valuable in the emerging virtual economy will be the new freemen. Those who cling to the old wagecuck model in the face of stagnant wages and rising costs of living will demand that the government force the "billionaires" to pay their fair share. The owners of these large businesses will not suffer terribly as a result, but the costs, ironically, will be passed on to the wagecucks themselves in the form of income taxes.
