Sup /biz/, been reading about stocks for some weeks and I'll start investing now.

I plan on starting with 1k to get my feet wet. I'm not thinking on "making it" or anything like that, just want to supplement my current income so I'm more inclined toward "safe" (I know there's no such things) stocks. Should I stick to the big ones (AAPL, MSFT...) or there's something interesting going on? Thanks senpai
